Field support technician

Field Support Technician, also known as a Network Technician, is a professional who provides on-site end-user support, telecom installation, programming, maintenance, and repairs to a wide variety of telecommunications' systems, equipment, cabling, and to other related systems and equipment at all locations.

According to PayScale, the average salary for a field service technician is $47,128 per year, with a reported salary range of $29,731 to $65,914. The highest paid field service techs are in Seattle, WA where the average reported yearly salary is $53,091.

To become a field technician, you first need a high school diploma or equivalent. Though some jobs require a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, some field service jobs only require an associate degree or vocational school certificate and provide on the job training.
