Cloud computing
A cloud service means that you rent storage space on a large corporate
server. The company guarantees that no content is accidentally lost, and
the major cloud service providers have been very good at keeping it to
date. With an app on your mobile, you can browse your files and upload or
download them to the cloud.
Compare with the following scenario: You happen to crack the screen on
your mobile so that the screen lock no longer works. The mobile phone is
old and you would rather buy a new one than fix it, but then the pictures
stored on the mobile phone will be lost. However, with a cloud service,
which can often be free, images can be saved as you take them.
That is not the only advantage of using a cloud service from a mobile
perspective. If you belong to those who manage to fill the mobile memory
with images, which you want to continue to have easy access to, you can clear
them from your mobile but still access them via your cloud service app. In
the best cloud services, it's almost like browsing the mobile's photo gallery
and watching a movie streaming it to the phone without having to save it and
record storage.
A cloud service also makes it easy to access images and other files from
more than one device. Many cloud services also have a program for your
computer that allows you to have a copy there and easily move files between
computer and mobile. A cloud service can also be a convenient way to share
files with others.
